The Cincinnati Dental Society (CDS) is a long-standing non-profit corporation founded in 1886, dedicated to serving both its professional members and the broader community in the Greater Cincinnati area, encompassing Brown, Clermont, Hamilton, and Warren counties in Ohio. Its core mission is "To support, educate and advance the interests of its members; while educating and serving our community." As a professional organization, the CDS offers numerous benefits to its over 500 members, including advocacy efforts through affiliations with the American dental association (ADA) and Ohio Dental Association (ODA). It provides continuing dental education programs, practical regulatory compliance training, and member events that offer CE credits. The CDS strives to uphold integrity, deliver quality service, and be responsive to its members' needs. Beyond its focus on members, the Cincinnati Dental Society is deeply committed to community service. Its philanthropic arm, the Cincinnati Dental Society's oral health Foundation (formerly The Cincinnati Center for Children's Dentistry, established in 2005), works to improve access to dental care for low-income citizens, children, and veterans in the Greater Cincinnati area. The CDS has a history of addressing dental health disparities, including a significant role in establishing The Free Dental Clinic in 1909 to address the poor dental health of children in Cincinnati Public Schools.
