Children's Dental Services (CDS) is a highly established and impactful non-profit organization with a rich history dating back to 1919. Founded with the mission to serve the oral health needs of disadvantaged Minneapolis orphans, CDS has evolved into Minnesota's largest single provider of dental services to low-income children and a national pioneer in on-site, affordable dental care. CDS operates out of multiple fixed clinic locations, including the one on E Hennepin Ave in Minneapolis, as well as an extensive network of over 250 satellite sites across 66 counties in Minnesota. These satellite locations include schools, Head Start centers, and other community settings, demonstrating their commitment to reducing barriers to care. They also provide mobile dental care, bringing services directly to underserved populations. The organization offers a comprehensive range of preventive and restorative dental services, including exams, X-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, fillings, extractions, crowns, and root canals. They are particularly adept at serving patients with special needs and are known for their culturally and linguistically competent staff, collectively speaking over 15 languages and hailing from 18 different countries, which helps to eliminate communication barriers. CDS is committed to making dental care accessible by accepting all forms of public and private dental insurance, including Medical Assistance, and offering a sliding fee scale program for income-eligible families who may not have insurance. They also prioritize urgent dental needs, striving to see children with painful emergencies within 24 to 48 hours. Beyond direct treatment, CDS is dedicated to oral health education and disease prevention strategies for low-income children and pregnant women. Their outreach efforts include presentations at schools and community events, where they can also conduct screenings and help families connect with resources. Some dentists affiliated with CDS are also credentialed to provide hospital-based care under general anesthesia for children who cannot comfortably receive treatment in a traditional dental office setting.

I don't know why people are leaving such bad reviews. It's dirty. . no I have never seen it dirty, it's just not your modern state of the art office. Staff is rude, never had an issue with any of them, they have all been accommodating, nice and pleasant. Just know you are not getting everything done in one day, it takes time.

I've had horrible experiences at bigger prettier places and they have traumatized my children. The big places ruined dentist visit for us. Children's dental is the only place my kids would go to. We love it there Out favorite is Desiree. She is amazing. Give it a shot and understand the world of dentistry before rejecting this place because of dumb reviews Happy dentist hunting

I'm not sure why everyone is giving this place a bad rating. We had a lovely experience here. The dental hygienist was so good. She told my daughter about every tool she used and explained what she was doing. The dentist is not necessarily my favorite place to go either, but I feel like they made it the best experience possible.

There is nothing fancy about the building. It's very simple and clean. We were seen in a timely manner. Thanks for great care!

They called me to confirm my appointment I made 6 months prior on the week of, typical and standard,but the location was changed and they also changed the time but didn't tell me that until I arrived the day and time of my appointment. I arrived early, of course, because I respect peoples time and they should, also. If you are going to have schedule 6 months in advance you better not waste my time. I canceled and am looking for a pediatric dentist to see my child since I choose to go elsewhere.

We prayed before the appt for God to lead us and He is leading us anywhere but here. Be warned.

I use to like it here until today. . . I took my son into the room to get a filling and, I was asking questions and do you know the dentist and her assistant just straight ignored me!! Kept talking and talking about their personal lives and acted as if I didn't even exist and did not ask a question. We will never come here again!! Now they talking about their personal lives again. . . yeah, I will never come here again.

Focus on my son's teeth, and stop having personal conversations and don't ignore me if I have questions. They done talked about a wig and each others kids and everything else up in here!! Just rude. . . . period.
