Detailed Introduction

Children's Dental Health of Harrisburg is a dedicated pediatric dental clinic located at 4230 Crums Mill Rd Suite 202, Harrisburg, PA 17112. As part of the larger Children's Dental Health network, which is the largest pediatric dental provider in Pennsylvania with over 20 locations, this Harrisburg office offers specialized dental care for children from infancy through their teenage years. The clinic's mission is to provide quality, affordable dental treatment in an engaging and child-friendly environment. The team at Children's Dental Health of Harrisburg, including pediatric dentists like Dr. JP Kim and Dr. Kesang Datta, are specifically trained to address the unique oral health needs of growing children. They focus heavily on preventive care, educating both children and parents on developing healthy habits to avoid issues like decay and infection. Services offered include routine check-ups and cleanings, digital X-rays (which use 80-90% less radiation), fluoride applications, and dental sealants to protect against cavities. For restorative needs, they provide white, mercury-free fillings and can handle more complex procedures when necessary, including dental trauma treatment, extractions, and root canals. They also offer sedation dentistry for anxious patients to ensure a comfortable experience. The Harrisburg office is designed with a jungle-themed, kid-friendly atmosphere, complete with safari scenery and a children's corner with games, aiming to make dental visits enjoyable and reduce anxiety. They emphasize a "show, tell, do" method to encourage active learning about oral hygiene. Children's Dental Health of Harrisburg accepts most major insurance carriers, including CHIP and Medicaid, and also offers cash-pay programs, striving to make quality dental care accessible. Their operating hours are generally Monday-Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

This was our 2nd visit to the Harrisburg office. Neither went good at all. We usually attend the Carlisle office which we always have a good experience. This Harrisburg office took my daughter back, would not allow me to go. I know that is normal and sometimes even makes it easier for the dentist, as I am a dental assistant.

While the 2 woman had my child in their care, she was treated very nasty they told her to stop crying when she was telling them she could feel everything and it hurt! They at one point pushed her down by her shoulder because she was sitting up to swallow, she felt she couldn't do. The woman assisting sprayed the area my daughter was crying in pain over with cold water. My daughter shouted in pain. The woman sprayed her clothing with the water and told her to stop crying it's just cold water!!! I wright this review in hopes that parents will see it and NOT ALLOW THEIR CHILDREN TO GO WITH STAFF ALONE!!! It's very upsetting and angers me greatly! I feel terrible letting my daughter go alone and her trusting these ppl for her to only to be abused by this terrible staff. Hopefully something will be done about this!!! Great caution and care should be taken with these kiddos, so they are not traumatized and later in life choose not to go to the dentist out of fear! I know these woman know this.

It's taught to us in school. I have NEVER had to experience something like this and don't even know what to do with it.

This was my first visit to this office and most likely my last. When my son's name was called to be seen, we were directed to a spot right beside the door "for privacy". That was weird as the room was full of people. There was actually "no privacy". My son was then taken to the back for services without me. He's 6 yrs old. That woke me up out of my sleep last night. Who knows what could've happen or been done to my son. I was told he was "due for X-rays" but he'd never been there before so how they would know he was "due" is beyond me. When everything was finished, I was pulled aside for them to explain the bill and what they said he would need done, which was, he "needed" 4 baby teeth pulled.

I disagreed. He actually only needed 1 pulled. That bill would've been almost $600 out of pocket because my insurance covered a percentage. I said "would've" because we're not coming back. I personally didn't like their whole set up. It's lacking in many areas. Idk why they would think it's ok to take a 6 yr old in the back to do services without their parents or guardian near. Also, bulk up their services. My son does not need 4 teeth pulled. They will come out on their own and if they don't come out by an appropriate time, THEN we can schedule to pull them but the way this was done.

. . absolutely NOT. No thank you. Ps. . . I never even seen the X-rays.

The atmosphere is good for kids. We were taken back right away at appointment time, so I thought we were going to be in and out quickly as it was just a consult. We waited in the exam room for 35min for a 5min consult. I was glad I didn't have all of my children with me.

I appreciated the explanation given for what would be done in surgery to help my child, and that they were willing to go the surgical route, as that was best for my child. The wait was just more than I anticipated.

I scheduled an appointment for my youngest at 10:30am for a cleaning and my oldest son at 2:30pm for a cavity filling, They called me the day prior and told me to bring them both they will see them at the same 10:30am appointment. I got there and waited an entire hour before they called my son back for the cleaning to tell me they couldn’t do it. They then proceeded to tell me they moved my other son up next to be seen but had me waiting another entire hour an a half before they took him back so I was there for 3 hours in total highly disappointed, my son had medication that I had to give him late because I wasn’t anticipating being there so long.

They don’t seem like they are sanitary either i didn't see anything get wiped down the 3hrs i was there. Highly DO NOT recommend!!
