My 3-year-old used to scream at the mere sight of a toothbrush, but after two visits here, she’s obsessed with “showing Dr. Maya her sparkly teeth. ” The office is a kid’s wonderland—wall-to-wall animal murals, a play area with mini dental chairs, and even a “tooth fairy mailbox” where kids drop off drawings. Dr.

Maya is magical with children; she let my daughter “help” with the tools and called the fluoride treatment “sparkle juice. ” The hygienists turned her cleaning into a game of “finding sugar bugs,” and she left with a sticker chart and a tiny toothbrush. They send cute reminder texts with a photo of the office, which eases pre-visit jitters. Finally, a pediatric dentist that gets it—we’re hooked!

I decided to take my little one here based on the positive reviews but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. First, I received a confirmation call for the appointment, but there was no mention of filling out any forms ahead of time. Assuming some offices still use paper forms, I didn’t think much of it. I arrived on time, and the receptionist mentioned I needed to sign something most likely a waiver and took my insurance card. After waiting about 15–20 minutes, the receptionist suddenly told me I needed to fill out the forms. I explained that I never received any email or text link for them. She claimed it was sent to my phone and said she just resent it. I had my phone out and showed her that nothing came through. When I asked why she hadn’t mentioned it when I first arrived, she said she only "just noticed it now.

" I filled out the forms quickly, and we were taken back around 9:30 AM, our appointmentwas scheduled for 9 AM. We then sat in the room for another 15 minutes before the doctor came in. She introduced herself, spoke with us for about five minutes, and then started trying to warm up my little one. Midway, she said she had to step away to attend to another patient. We ended up waiting another 10–15 minutes. At this point, my little one was getting restless from all the waiting it was well past his snack time, and we had been out since 8:30 AM. When the doctor finally returned, she counted his teeth, brushed the front ones, flossed a single tooth, and said she couldn’t clean the back teeth. For all this, I was charged $200—just for brushing a few front teeth. By then, my little one was tired of the wait, and it had been nearly two hours since we left the house.

I asked the doctor if she genuinely felt this was a thorough exam, and she said it was "great. " I was honestly speechless. I explained our experience, and she apologized, offering a 30-minute follow-up session to make up for it. I scheduled the follow-up, called the day before to confirm, and asked if there would be any additional costs. Later that day, close to 5 PM, the office called and left a message saying the doctor would not be available in the morning, and I would have to reschedule. Overall, the lack of communication, the long wait times, and the incomplete cleaning were really frustrating. I was hopeful based on the reviews, but sadly, our experience did not match up.

Cannot say enough great things about this practice! Scheduling was a breeze and I was able to get both of my kids in at the same time which was wonderful. The nurse Vanessa was wonderful with both of my kids, she took the time to explain everything to my kids instead of rushing. This really helped calm their fears and apprehensions. She was thorough and explained everything to me. I had plenty of time to ask questions.

Dr. Fontes was also great, she took the time to get my kids comfortable before examining them and was very gentle and friendly. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist.

My kids have been coming here since they were old enough to see a dentist. Dr. Fontes and her team are outstanding with them. Their demeanor towards each of my three kids always seems tailored to the comfort level that kid needs. Very sweet, very caring. My kids have never felt anxious about going to the dentist thanks to everyone here.

Dr. Fontes has knowledge of tongue ties as well; all three of my kids have had corrections so we have shared our concerns and insights on the topic. She really takes the time to listen to and address any concerns that you may be having. Kids love the office’s many vibrant play accessories that they get to see/play with and they look forward to their special token at the end of their visits. They look forward to the appointments every six months! Highly recommended this practice!
