The clinic emphasizes patient comfort and aims to provide a relaxed experience, even for more intensive procedures like root canals or extractions. The Bowen name has a strong legacy in Columbus dentistry, with the family's involvement extending over 70 years in the greater Columbus area, also linked to "Bowen Legacy Dental" which continues this family tradition of dental excellence.

I would give this a negative star rating if possible. This place and dentist are a joke. DO NOT GO THERE. . . . So here's my experience. . . . When the dentist approached me he barely said a word, no introduction, no "how ya doing", he just started yanking on my teeth with the sharp prop without telling me. Now let me get to the main part.

He identified that I had a cavity and attempted to fill it. Attempt failed. Every time I tried to chew after that an intense pain in the cavity area shot up into my teeth nerves. I went back to the office (big mistake) explaining to them what the issue was. They said they would just fill the top part and it would make things normal. So the dentist re-filled my cavity again and sent me on my way, guaranteeing that my painful chewing problem would go away. It didn't. Today I still have intense pain in the cavity area anytime I try to chew. Now I can only chew food on the right side of my mouth, I had to drive all the way to that joke of an office twice, missed about 4 hours of work, and now have to search for a dentist who can possibly try to fix my issue. I went into Hubbard dental to get my teeth fixed, but guess what? They are worse now and I am an intense pain. You would think a dentist could do something as simple as filling a cavity? How Bowen is legally aloud to work on people's teeth is beyond me and just plain scary. He is about as bright as a brick wall, he has no idea what he is doing, he is a joke, DO NOT GO THERE I BEG YOU.

. . . . . . . . . . .

I wanted to give them five stars to offset some of what I felt were unfair 1 star reviews, but, that would not be honest. The dentists that I've dealt with here (and at their previous location on Hubbard) were OK and the facility used to look like dental chairs basically setup in the back of a warehouse but the new facility is a little better. It's not fancy and the dentists may not be the very best, but, I've been going there for years and found their work to be decent.

I've had cleanings, fillings, and root canals done. What I appreciate most are two things: I've been able to get appointments the same day when I've needed something done urgently and their prices were about 1/2 as much OR LESS than other dentists in the area. This can make a big difference when you're getting something like a crown done, where my insurance pays only 50%.

Today for instance, it meant that I only had to pay $400 rather than over $1,200 that I had to pay at the dentist I got a previous crown done at.

I got a molar removed and Bowen ripped my gum exposing another tooth and left it hanging. Rinsed my mouth and gauzed it and sent me on my way. Didn't notice my gum because I was still numb when I left. Hours later, my mouth continued to bleed and I tried to change gauze pad and I was in excruciating pain and then I noticed the bottom of the gauze was literally a chunk of my gum hanging. Would not recommend Bowen and they DON'T allow anyone in the back that's not a patient but now I know why (hence the way I was treated and discharged with a new, possibly forever, problem).

The next day a different dentist seen me and seen the issue and he did his best to support me (fears and anxiety) to try and remedy the situation. He allowed a relative to be with me during the entire process. He did suture my gum together and he said I will have a gap in my gum due to the size of the tear. Is this because I have a government insurance or should Bowen be out of practice?

Update: IT GETS EVEN WORSE 2024: I got a call from collections for the appointment 5 years ago. Apparently my insurance did not pay for the cleaning, so the dentist office sent 3 invoices to my insurance company for the remaining balance, and then turned over the bill to collections. I was not notified a single time I had a balance outstanding via phone, email, or mail.

2019: I received an extremely low quality, quick but painful cleaning. The office looks like it is in a third world country.
