I've been to Dr.Devitt for an implant and just today I got my 4 wisdom teeth removed. He had it done in 45 minutes!! He is HANDS DOWN the best oral surgeon in Bloomington or any surrounding areas! He even called after business hours to check up and see how I was doing. My mom has gone to him as well and she will never go anywhere else. Very kind office staff and amazing Doctor!!!!

Dr. Devitt did a great job with me. I went to get all 4 wisdom teeth taken out under local anesthesia, and I was out after about no more than 20 minutes (one tooth was partially impacted). I would describe the overall surgery as very efficient.

And despite all the horror stories I had heard about what recovery was like, I was actually pain-free by the next day. I didn't have to take any painkillers. True, my teeth weren't too bad but my relatively pain-free recovery is also credit to the job he did.

If I could have given a -5 star I would have!!!! I had a tooth removed just yesterday and i was referred to them by my dentist in Bedford, where i was at the time they call Dr Devitt. . He told them it needs out asap so they said come at 1. We raced there and i called on the way to tell them i was super nervous and anxious about oral surgery and i was 61 and had never had anything done before except 2 teeth removed and the last one was many years ago and both were very bad experiences by different doctors. They reassured me gas would be the best option for me. I told her I wanted out! She said they didn’t do that there. I told her as long as I wouldn’t remember or feel anything gas was ok then.

The office staff was nice and I repeated about being anxious and nervous to 3 different staff members . When i got back to get the tooth removed it was like Hurry and get her $$ and get her out of here! The doctor was VERY hateful and screaming at me to stop screaming! He gave me NO warning as to what was being done to me. I had no clue what gas was like and i felt absolutely nothing with it on! It felt no different than oxygen on me and. They slapped it over my nose and told me to open my mouth. I went nuts because I thought he was removing the tooth when the gas hadn’t taken affect yet! I was trying to tell him i was hard to numb or be sedated and he was screaming for me to look at him and shut up! I opened my eyes in sheer terror of him and he asked who told me I wouldn’t feel anything and it was going to hurt so get used to it! He then asked if I wanted sedation because I would have to reschedule. Odd because they told me on the phone they didn’t sedate anyone! I told him no i couldn’t come back. He left and the assistant who was there told me i couldn’t scream and i had to breathe through my nose.

I asked how i was to do that with my mouth open! She had no answer for me. I also told her i had no idea what was happening and he scared me. She said nothing. He came back to me and told me not to scream. I told him it would be a whole lot easier if he told me ahead of time what he was doing so id know what to expect! He did then and as he worked on me he said nothing else to calm me and talked to the assistant about her son. He finished and as he walked out he told me to call if I decided I wanted something put in that space and he hoped i got a wad from the insurance company who was supposed to cover it because of their apparent negligence. He was a complete idiot and a heartless jerk! I would never recommend him to anyone and not even take a dog to him! Then i waited 2 hours for my pain meds and when my husband called they said it was Their fault and they hadn’t even called them In yet!!! This place is very incompetent and the doctor himself lacks bedside manner and compassion for new patients who have never had anything worse than a cleaning done!

Dr Devitt went above and beyond recently when my fiancé had a procedure performed and needed medication sent to the pharmacy. He went back to the office after hours and recent a prescription so he would have the medication needed that evening.

He was extremely kind and called to follow up later in the evening making sure we were able to get the prescription filled. I will definitely recommend Dr Devitt and Bloomington Oral Surgery to anyone needing dental care
