Dentist in Delray Beach, FL
I am new patient and on my first visit it was suggested that I get a bridge to repair a missing tooth. The two teeth on each side of the missing tooth would be drilled a capped to make the bridge. I went for my drill and temporary cap appointment. When I sat in the chair I was informed a person that was being interviewed for a position will be working with the dentist on my teeth. They told me she was well trained and not to worry. This appointment took 3 hours because the person interviewing could not perform the tasks and kept asking for assistance. They would assist by telling her what to do then walk away and let her continue to work on me. I left there with a temporary bridge that had gaps and rough edges and popped up after two days. Every time I tried to eat or drink I would have terrible aching pain. After a week I called the office and asked if I could be seen due to all of the pain I was in. They said the dentist thought the best plan because they were busy that I come in the following day at 4 pm. I tried to wait but couldn’t because the pain was so bad. I called back and they had me come is that day. When they looked at my temporary bridge they said there were gaps and when food or water came in contact it was hitting exposed nerve roots. The dentist said we will patch it up and re cement it and I should be good to go. I informed them that I was going away on a work trip for two weeks and would this hold up and should you make a new one. They said yes it would and it wasn’t necessary to make a new one.
2 days into my trip the repair shattered and left sharp edges that was cutting my tongue. I was not eating anything hard or chewing on that side. I was back to being in terrible pain. I called the office and spoke to their answering service who said someone would get back to me by end of day with instructions on what to do. No one got back to me. I went to the drug store and found a dental paste to try and fill in the gaps were the nerve was exposed. I had to file the bridge myself to smooth out the sharp area cutting my tongue. I had to apply this paste multiple times a day so that I could drink and eat. When I got back from my trip, my appointment was in another 5 days to get my permanent bridge. The morning of my appointment on a Wednesday I get a call from the office. They said the dentist had an emergency and they had to reschedule my appointment . I said okay, when can I come in? They said next Thursday. I said no way, I explained what I had been going through and I could not wait another week with this pain. They got me in with a different dentist that day. I had to wait in the chair over an hour for this other dentist. I explained everything I went through to the dental assistant and I told her how no one got back to me. She said yeah our answering service just puts a note in your chart about the call and they never tell us that someone called.
We would have to go into your chart and see the note. That is why we never called you back. So they know this happens and don’t do anything about it?!!! The other dentist did not apologize about the wait, instead made comments about what was on the tv that they put in your face to I guess distract you from how long you are sitting there, which does not work but the way. He said oh wow I love that show, don’t let me watch or I will be here all day. Not funny, an apology would have been better. He was in with me for 2 minutes, stuck the permanent on said bite down for 10 min. and walked out. The tech cleaned me up handed me a piece of paper and said if you continue to have pain give us a call. That was it. It’s been two days since the permanent bridge was placed . It is still tender to chew on that side but I’m going to give it a few more days. If I am still having issues I have no confidence in calling this place back. I’m actually scared to go back. Also on a side note, they took two X-rays that day and not once put that covering on me to protect me from the x-ray.

I've had about 5 or 6 seperate scheduling issues in the last 6 months or so, canceling appointments without letting me know causing me to waste my time and gas as I don't live around the corner. Currently, my husband and I are not impressed by the service. Feels very rushed. I have been coming for orthodontic appointments for the past 2 years and 9/10 times don't even see the orthodontist which is kind of scammy IMO since I am being billed as such.
The dentist should at least show their face tp ensure correct work is being done. Some months ago I had a hygienist start to scan me for my final retainer when my teeth weren't anywhere near done. She didnt ask just went ahead and did her thing. Thats the problem when you have a revolving door of employees who dont have any loyalty to the brand and location.
This place used to be so good but now its run like a meat packing plant trying to get bodies in and out as quickly as possible which affects the quality of service. Also not happy that there is a new hygienist every time I come. I really hope they turn it around or I will be changing offices as soon as my Invisalign is finished.

Atlantic Family dental, always provide quality and professional services. The off staff is courteous, pleasant to communicate with and pleasing to the eye. 😆 The hygienist was gentle, and took time with my annual cleaning. The doctor reviewed x-rays and recommended great cosmetic repairs. Great visit.

I just had a cleaning at Atlantic Family dental, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and professional. The facility itself was clean and well maintained which immediately put me at ease. The doctor & staff were incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything clearly.
I especially appreciated how up-to-date their systems and technology were—it made the entire experience feel efficient and informative. I left feeling confident in the care I received and truly in great hands. Highly recommend!
