Detailed Introduction

Aspen Dental is a prominent American dental support organization (DSO) that backs over 1,100 Aspen Dental-branded dental locations throughout the United States. Founded in 1998 in Syracuse, NY, its headquarters are now in Chicago, Illinois. While each Aspen Dental practice is independently owned and operated by licensed dentists, Aspen Dental Management, Inc. provides comprehensive non-clinical support services, including marketing, operations, training, and business management. This model allows dentists to focus primarily on patient care. Aspen Dental's mission is to break down barriers to dental care, making it more accessible and affordable for a wide range of patients, particularly those who may not have a regular dental provider, lack insurance, or face financial hurdles. They are known for offering a broad spectrum of services, encompassing general dentistry (check-ups, cleanings, fillings, extractions), emergency dental care, and specialized treatments such as dentures (with on-site labs for quicker service), dental implants, crowns, bridges, oral surgery, and endodontics (root canals). They also offer clear aligners for teeth straightening. To further promote accessibility, Aspen Dental practices often offer extended hours, including evenings and select Saturdays, and welcome walk-in and emergency patients. They work with most major dental insurance providers and also offer flexible financing options and an "Aspen Dental Savings Plan" for patients without insurance. Additionally, Aspen Dental is committed to community outreach, notably through initiatives like the "Healthy Mouth Movement," which provides free dental care to underserved populations, including veterans. The specific location in South Lebanon, OH, like other Aspen Dental offices, operates under this model, providing local residents with access to the range of dental services and financial flexibility offered by the larger network.

I had an excellent visit initially. I can't say enough good about those that did my initial screening. Once that visit was wrapped up and I was introduced to their insurance/billing girl things went down hill in a rapid fashion. I was referred for a deep cleaning and the orthodontist had availability to get me in same day which would have been amazing. Once I was introduced to the insurance girl she said they were waiting verification of my insurance and someone would get with me to schedule a followup. I received a call later that afternoon requesting me to confirm my insurance information and was told that someone would get ahold of me later that day.

Never received another call. They were close most of the week of July 4th so on the 7th I called to see where we were at and was told insurance was still pending and someone would get back to me. I called again on the morning of the 8th and again insurance was pending and again someone would get ahold of me. I called again the afternoon of the 8th and left a voicemail. Called twice on the 9th leaving voicemail again and as of writing this have not had a returned call yet. Called another Aspen to see about moving services to their location and was told because they were franchise I would have to bee seen again to start the process over again.

From this call I did learn that my insurance is on file with Aspen so at this point there is nothing stopping me from getting the deep cleaning I need other than the return call I am still to this date waiting for. I am typing this review in hopes that someone who reviews this from Aspen take the initiative to reach out and get me schedule because at this point I am well beyond tired of making the attemp myself. I very much like the orthodontist and would appreciate the opportunity to finish what she started a few weeks ago lol, but you billing department leaves a lot to be desired.

Daughter needed a root canal, so we came here for consult. 2:30 appointment time turned into seeing the dentist just before 4pm. Do not plan to be in & out, even just for a consultation. Informed us most visits are two hours, minimum. They were rushing us through to be out by the 1 hour, 45 min mark. Dental assistant we had was rude and unprofessional with my 16yr old daughter.

Daughter mentioned after her xray that she does not like things around her neck. Assistant said “well you sure have a lot of tattoos and ear piercings!” Not sure what that has to do with the lead apron bothering my daughter, but okay. Assistant made other comments in the room about daughter’s appearance, ear piercings and her few tattoos. She then later asked if we were there for a root canal of tooth #16 (a wisdom tooth). I said no, it’s #15. She said, “oh well your daughter is 16.

Must be where I got that number. ” Just unprofessional and didn’t pay attention to what we said. Once I mentioned I had previously worked in dentistry, her demeanor changed and she started acting like I was a coworker or friend, and she became much more pleasant. Overall it wasn’t an awful experience, but I don’t want to go back to follow up with treatment. We’ll be finding another office soon.

The worst experience ever!!! Do not waste your time or money here. It is a rip off game. Kinda like you go to get your brake pads replaced, but then the crooked mechanic tells you he can't by law just fix your brakes, but that you will have to get rotors, calipers, wheel bearings and new tires before they can do anything for you.

I wasted 3 hours of my life there this morning, thinking I was going for X-rays and a cleaning. I got the x-rays and was told I'd have to make another appointment to get my teeth cleaned??? Don't go there.

1 star is more than I wanted to give to this cheap place. They're HIGHLY UNQUALIFIED AND UNDESERVING OF THE 1 STAR I've given them. I called this place two weeks ago for an appointment. A day or two ago they sent me a form through text to send them my information and I did that.

Yesterday they called me to confirm my appointment. I gave the girl everything I needed over the phone. She said "Thank you, We'll see you tomorrow then!" I drive AN HOUR down there to Aspen Dental and go in. I give the girl at the desk my information only to be told: "Sorry, you don't have an appointment here, But I can reschedule you.

" RESCHEDULE?!!!!! RESCHEDULE???? PLEASE EXPLAIN how if I "Don't have an appointment" how are you going to RESCHEDULE ME?! WHY? So you can pull this again? THIS PLACE IS A JOKE DON'T GO HERE! Update: I've filed a complaint on this company with the BBB. Aspen Dental is not accredited with them but I'm assuming the BBB can knock their rating down if they see fit for this! The fact Aspen Dental has a profile with the BBB tells me that possibly the BBB can do something.
