This includes vulnerable populations such as children, older adults, individuals with disabilities, and those with limited financial means (including those on Medical Assistance, uninsured, or underinsured). Inspired by the Mayo Clinic model, AppleTree Dental employs an integrated team approach, focusing on patient-centric care. They offer a comprehensive range of dental services, encompassing education, prevention, and restorative treatments. These services are delivered through their network of "Centers for Dental Health" and innovative "On-Site Care Programs" which utilize customized mobile dental offices. These mobile units allow them to provide care directly to patients in various community settings, including long-term care and assisted living facilities, group homes, Head Start centers, and schools, effectively eliminating transportation and other access barriers. AppleTree Dental's commitment extends beyond direct patient care. They are actively involved in data-driven research to improve health outcomes, promote innovation in dental care delivery systems, and engage in community collaborations. They partner with approximately 200 organizations to expand their reach and impact. The organization also hosts clinical rotations for health profession students and a dental residency program, contributing to the education and training of future dental professionals. Their financial model relies on earned revenue from services, supplemented by federal, state, and local grants, corporate support, and individual donations, enabling them to provide essential services and fill uncompensated care gaps.
